WELCOME!

The Michigan Woodworker's Guild is a non-profit, educational, and co-operative organization founded in 1981 for the purpose of encouraging and promoting excellence in design and craftsmanship and wider use and appreciation of well-designed and crafted wood products.

The Guild, through a variety of continuing and expanding programs and projects, serves as a clearinghouse of information for members and the general public about wood, woodworking, and wood products.

The Guild's primary objectives include:

  • Recognition and encouragement of all wood using art, crafts, trades, and professions.

  • Active support of woodworker training and industrial education.

  • Preservation and continuing application of "old-time" woodworking tools and skills.

  • Commitment to strong support of conservation use and effective long-range management of our private and public resources.

  • Cooperation with and support of other private and public wood-oriented organizations.

Our membership is comprised of new woodworkers and seasoned veterans from such places as the entire state of Michigan, Northern Ohio, and Ontario, Canada. We welcome both the hobbyist and professional to become active in our organization.
